YMCA William Floyd Project


The William Floyd Project is a division of the YMCA Family Services. The focus of our program is the provision of services to youth in the Town of Brookhaven. We provide services free of cost to residents in the William Floyd community.

Programs and Services

  • Youth Counseling - Counseling services are available for youth ages 5 to 21 in a 16 week program.


  • Youth Employment - This program provides youth ages 13 to 21 with job search assistance; employment referrals for part-time, full-time or odd job work; and information on interviewing skills and resume writing.


  • Youth and Government – Offered to William Floyd High School students, this unique program allows our young students an opportunity to participate in one of the three branches of government.


  • Empowering Girls for Life Group – This is a 6 week program that allows at-risk girls to discuss issues, participate in healthy activities and express themselves in a safe and empowering environment.


  • Movie Club – Offered to youth ages 13-16, this program exposes youth to a variety of cultural media and provides a safe, structured place to socialize after school.


  • Teen-Time – This program offers youth access to computers, video games, books and board games after school.


  • Parenting Education – The goal of this program is to teach positive parenting skills in a supportive environment. This program covers discipline, resolving conflict, good communication skills, avoidance of power struggles, and surviving parenthood.
